In this activity, students will practice solving systems of inequalities (in slope-intercept and standard form) as they tap into their creative side! Once students solve the system, they must determine if the given point is a solution to that system and follow the directions for that box on the next page based on their answer. They will fill the boxes with fun patterns, drawings, and creative ideas! The students will create their own colorful masterpieces as they reinforce their algebra skills, and you will be able to quickly check for understanding as the students assemble their artwork. This flexible activity allows students to stretch their imagination while reinforcing important algebra concepts.
This no-prep activity is an excellent resource for sub plans, enrichment/reinforcement, early finishers, and extra practice with some fun. It is especially useful for end-of-year practice, spiral review, and motivated practice when students are exhausted from standardized testing or mentally “checked out” before a long break (hello summer!). As an added bonus, the completed work doubles as excellent classroom decor and allows your students to show off not only their math, but also their artistic, skills!
