In this activity, students will match problems and solutions on ends of “dominoes”, creating a path from start to finish as they solve the problems. The students will cut out their dominoes from the output sheet, which includes all the dominoes they need to complete the puzzle in random order. This activity requires very little prep since students can cut out their own puzzle pieces without first being exposed to the solutions. It’s an excellent activity for kinesthetic learners, groupwork, enrichment, or skills practice. The activity also makes a great file-folder game if you laminate the pieces!
- Have students paste their final puzzles on colored or construction paper and ask them to decorate or color it. It makes beautiful classroom décor when done!
- Allow students to work individually, in groups, or in a competition to encourage motivation.
- Cut the pieces of one puzzle and laminate them. Keep them, along with the directions, in a file folder for a quick enrichment activity for early finishers.
- This puzzle is great for kinesthetic learners and keeps students engaged while they practice their skills. The problems vary in difficulty to ensure an appropriate level of challenge to your students.
