Description

Are your students bored, confused, unmotivated, or disengaged after 20 minutes of instruction? Use these individual whiteboards brain breaks to wake up their brains! Students jump at the chance to use whiteboards during class, so give them something productive to do with them while giving their brains a break at the same time. These breaks provide a quick way to engage students and increase the activity in their brains. After just a few minutes of these activities, students will be awake, focused, and ready to begin learning again. It’s like a reset switch for their brains!

These breaks are great for review days, especially in 90-minute classes. They are no prep and require no downloading of additional apps or software. They work great as ice breakers for the beginning of the year or as time fillers for when you have just a few minutes left of class. The students can choose the breaks (they are hyperlinked in a PowerPoint presentation) for an added element of intrigue. The breaks come with additional tips and alternatives for use in the notes sections of the slides.

Fun Fact Coordinate Graphing Picture: Flamingo

$2.00
With this activity, students will practice coordinate graphing on all four quadrants of the coordinate plane (with precision up to one-fourth of a unit). Students will connect each point as they graph in order to reveal the answer to the fun fact! This is a great way to review skills for graphing and the activity lends itself toward the discussion of fractional parts on the coordinate plane. In addition, this activity is wonderful for early finishers, skills enrichment, sub plans, or just plain fun, and the students learn something that they likely didn't know! When students are done, have them color their picture to use as fun classroom decor!
