In this activity, students will test their knowledge about the Real Number System as they tap into their creative side! Students will read a statement regarding a number in the Real number system and then determine if it is true or false. They will then find the exercise number in boxes in the table on the next page and then decorate that box according to the directions for their chosen answer for that exercise. The students will create their own colorful masterpieces as they reinforce their algebra skills, and you will be able to quickly check for understanding as the students assemble their artwork. This flexible activity allows students to stretch their imagination while reinforcing important algebra concepts.
This no-prep activity is an excellent resource for sub plans, enrichment/reinforcement, early finishers, and extra practice with some fun. It is especially useful for end-of-year practice, spiral review, and motivated practice when students are exhausted from standardized testing or mentally “checked out” before a long break (hello summer!). As an added bonus, the completed work doubles as excellent classroom decor and allows your students to show off not only their math, but also their artistic, skills!
